so im thinkin about goin from my 98.5 to a 03. im sick of fixing my 2nd gen. sound like a good idea to yall or should i try to shoot for a 12 valver.

 

i would shoot for an 04 or up seems like just a few problems(not big, in 03 with new motor). but really all the 3rd gens are great.....

 

I dumped a fortune into my 98.5 and had terrible luck with it. That experience almost kept me from ordering my '07 5.9. I'm glad I did buy the new one as I've had no issues to date. The quietness,braking and steering improvements will amaze you. There are some great deals out there.

 

Yep i did the same as well.. after i bought my 98.5 i learned about the #53 block the hard way.. and also replacing both fuel pumps. im just sick of replacing things. still dont know if i should fix and sell or part out my 98.5

 

I like my 3rd gen a lot, but sometimes I really wish I bought a 2nd gen. Besides for nice creature comforts of the 3rd gen, I much prefer the old ones. As far as things breaking with all the mods you got things could break just as easy on a 3rd gen. I would dump my 3rd gen in a second for a older one if I wouldn't be so upside down on it.....
