No, but they tend to squeal when a groove is worn in the rotor and a slight ridge is formed at the outer edge that rubs on the pad.

yes; tabs were on my 04.5 when i replaced them at 98203 miles, just started to rub. bought factory new front pads at bluebonnet dodge, new braunfels tx.
$70.03 tax included. figured if these last as long as original, i will be good to
200k.

Mine are making a squeel at less than 36k. Dealer said they are covered for 12k which I assumed I guess. Towing the boat with no trailer brakes is the assumed culprit. Time for a brake job. Any tips since it may be different than my chevy?

Disc brake squeal is not always caused by worn pads. Pull a wheel off and look before spending money. The pads may have plenty of life left in them.

No difference. If you've got the time and money. Consider upgrading our rotors to slotted rotors to help keep the temps down while pulling a trail with no brakes.

A bit of good quality silicone between the plunger and pad can work most times.

Slotting does nothing to dispel heat. The purpose of the slots is to act like a cheese slicer. Every time the slot goes over the pad, it removes a small amount of material. When you're racing that's a good thing; it shaves off the glazed surface causes by heavy use and high heat levels. The down side is that you lose a lot longevity. My track car goes through 3 sets of front pads a year.

If you're worried about heat, add cooling ducts.
