I have the tailgate lock. It's o k. I'm sure if someone wanted to break it with screwdriver and pliers it would be possible. My main concern was to keep my kids and neighborhood kids from opening tail gate and have it come down on their heads.

Edit: Sorry about that...PopLock.

Trik, I've got the PowerLock tailgate lock on my truck ($90). It wires into the power door lock system which makes it super convienent. So far it has worked flawlessly in all kinds of weather and temperatures.

Installing it was a bit of a pain due to the unclear instructions about which wire was for the power door lock signal, and the fact that the included wire taps were of very poor quality. Anyone with a QC long bed or Mega Cab truck should also buy the wire harness extension kit.

Well for a manual keyed lock, I like the Bully Tailgate Lock. Replaces OEM assembly and looks just like OEM. Very easy install. As good a key lock as you can put on a tailgate.

I installed a Pace Edwards electric lock. Well made and the wires that come with it are easily long enough to fit a Megacab. Never had a problem with it. It was approx $80. It was even fairly easy to find the correct wires to tap into. I would highly recommend this lock, no keys to mess with no thinking required.
