This sucks.....

I've got the offroading bug so bad right now! Last night on my way home I found a SCE maintenance road and blasted down that, but it was pretty smooth so not much fun at all. And "progress" is swallowing up all the vacant land around here. Grrrrrrrrr.......

Pauly you need to take a drive over to AZ. We'll put your suspension to the test!! I drive over a speed bump and it put's my suspension to the test.

Have you towed heavy with your upgrades? Some people have said that when you start messing with lifts and shocks that it won't tow as well. When I go to the dunes at least 50% of the people towing have lifted trucks. I find it hard to believe.

I wouldn't say I pulled heavy, but I do pull our 9000 lb travel trailer (tag trailer) pretty often, sometimes with a 1200 lb or so lifted golf cart in the bed, and the truck does every bit as good as it did stock. My previous truck had the same type of mods as this one and the results were the same. That one actually towed better lifted than it did stock. Take note, however, that both trucks were lifted just enough to get the desired ride and handling offroad. No 6" lifts here.....

Hey ptgarcia, my Thuren lift is calling for more use too, I have taken it out occasionaly here in AZ. What a blast!!! I've also taken it on the Yuma dunes, talk about a good time! I do understand why sandrails don't look all that similar to a 3/4 ton truck.... I did get my own posse of 3/4 wheelers following us around just to see what we did, they couldn't believe the stuff the suspension would pull off.

I think you should get some paddles on that thing and head to Glamis.

You'd need a special paddle tire to handle the weight and power of these trucks. I'm not even sure where you could get some, but I bet they're pretty expensive!

I paid a bit less than $3000, including paying to have it installed. I know since then material costs have gone up resulting in higher coil spring and track bar prices. But I have to say, its the best mod I've made to the truck.

Sounds like fun. I've never been to the Dunes and look forward to making it there next season.

Those sand rails are kings of the sand. And the ones they are building now are truely amazing machines, and they better be to fetch the price they demand!

Take a look at Tatum Sand Cars. Most of the new ones are 120K +. We have a person in our group who has a black widow. I've only been in it once but will say it was the most amazing thing I've ever ridden in. Twin turbo Z06 motor. Something stupid like 800-900 hp. He wanted the fastest thing he could get but still use pump gas. It was $143K out the door. The problem is every time he gets back from a dune trip he has to fix something. Or I should say he pays someone to fix it for him!!!
