Anybody have any ideas on how to break loose or really to keep the top part from turning as you are using a 3/4" wrench to turn the nut? I have used locking visegrips and it starting to turn anyway. I sprayed WD-40 on it to let it soak to hopefully help it break loose. These are the original OEM front shocks. I'm changing them because one of them is now bleeding on the ground. Sorry for the pic being sideways.

A small pipe wrench may be able to grip better then vise grips. Also, don't be afraid to grip the threads as well, since the shock is junk, as long as you can loosen the nut enough to get a cutting wheel or sawzall in there to cut the shaft between the nut and top of the shock.

Otherwise, looks like you used penetrating oil already, but KROIL is MUCH better then any other pentrtaiting fluid out there. It REALLY works!!! Also, you could use a MAP or propane torch to heat the nut and break it loose, though I don't know what you can't burn.

Do you have room to get a nut splitter around it?

Never thought about that. I might have to go buy one then return it telling them I couldn't make it cut.

There are special shock sockets available, designed to fit the oval shape on the end of the stud. I know it's too late now, after yours has been deformed by the vise grips, but for future reference, it works well.

Found this at AutoZone. Think I'll have to get it and a nut splitter. Only my right shock tip is screwed up.

Here is a link to a link by Rockcrawler304 that shows you how to remove and replace the shocks.

Thanks for all the suggestions guy's, it didn't get it drilled all the way thru but I think the PB spray finally soaked thru and I got both nuts off.
