straight pipe nervana
Well as a cheap ($60.00) experiment I straight piped my 2004 Ram. It sounds awesome and I highly recommend it for those-w-questions about how to improve the exhaust. You can always put a muff in line-w-the straight pipe if desired

took mine to a local muffler shop that does diesel work, they had the 3.5" pipe in stock, just take the muffler off and replace it with a straight pipe, had this done when mine was 2 days old, loved it ever since

I got the pipe from a national co. called Fleetpride. They had adapthers/couplings etc. I would have saved $ and welded it on myself but it was pouring rain and I wanted it done NOW!. They also had a real nice downturn chrome tip I bought for $38.00. Is this a good price. I love the sound.
BTW I met a guy-w-a 2000 Ram today. It sounded like mine and I asked if he removed the muff. He said yes and a few other mods = 12.5sec 1/4 mile. I don't believe what I don't see but this thing sounded bad to the bone!. It was regular cab 4X4

There are a couple of high-11 second trucks on the road, and there's word of a non-streetable mid 10 second full-size truck running around somewhere.

How about drone inside the cab? Is it much worse with a straight pipe? Is any bending required, or can the pipe be installed with just muffler clamps and a sawzall?
