Stock Wheel Backspacing Question...

And yes, I did use the search function, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have the stock 17" wheels for the truck in my sig. The measurements for that wheel, at least what I think they are, are:

17"X8"
+43mm offset
total backspacing of 6.2"

IS THIS CORRECT for a stock, chrome clad steel wheel for a 2004.5 truck?

Thanks - I'm almost thinking about getting some new wheels to go with the Nitto Dura Grapplers (285/75/17E) - for more about those read this thread: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=214747

thanks guys....

Yes, I had in my head 41mm offset and 6.17" backspacing, but you may be right. Either way, you're in the ballpark.

I was looking at some 17x8.5" Weld wheels with 6" backspacing for my 06. So according to this math the Weld Method wheels would stick out just under 3/4" further than my stock aluminum sheels.

Or less, you only added 1/2 inch total wheels width and lost .2 inch BS. The offset would help define exactly how much more they would stick out past stock, but should not be more than the 3/4 for sure if they are 6" BS.

Here is generic info that should help: https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

It will stick out a very, very tad more than the stockers (nothing really noticeable). The 17x8.5 w/ 6" backspacing is the most optimal size for our trucks in aftermarket wheels, I think.
