I'm glad a pic has already been posted...I uploaded mine last week and it took at least a day to be accepted. I left on a trip the day after so I didn't have a chance to post it. Anyway, here is shot of my new A/V head unit (Alpine):

I did not get the nav module due to the price (around $1300 extra) but have a backup camera, IPod module, and Sirius module. If you want navigation, I suggest going with a different unit, but the IPod navigation on the Alpine is superior to the others.

Regardless, the backup camera is highly recommended especially if you have kids. As an added bonus, I have mine mounted so that I can see the hitch ball, which is nice to have when hooking up a trailer.

04ctd- It appears we are neighbors! I got mine installed at Custom Car Stereo in West Ashley. They did a good job but I think charged me too much for the installation. I got the head unit for 1k, the IPod module for $45, and the Sirius for $100 (I think). The other cost that I didn't think about beforehand was an alarm...it put me over my budget but I think it was money well spent!

Actually, I've heard the Alpine navigation is very good...the only reason I was saying this b/c of how much it costs. I've seen just the navigation module priced as high as $1700, which makes the whole package (head unit + nav) about $2700. Other units like the Eclipse is around $2000 installed.

The good thing though is that I can always add the nav later if I want it.

eeeewwwwww.....those pics bring me back to the time when I was looking for my 06, why does dodge put the super ugly (IMO) faulsa wood trim panels in all of these TRUCKS!!!!. DC!!!! it's not grandpa's Cadillac!!!!!! I must have looked at 50 trucks with all the options I wanted only to open the door and almost puke all over the place due to that trim!!!

I love the double din head units though!!!!

Thanks, MB. I agree...a bad *** truck needs a bad *** sound system!

I've always hated any type of wood grain in a vehicle, but after seeing the '06 I actually changed my mind. It grew on me in all of about 2hrs...lol. I thought about changing it out with the silver sporty looking parts. It's just the last few vehicles I've owned all had that style and I'm tired of it.

One thing that drives me nuts is the big black plastic gap between the head unit and wood grain dash. It would look 10X's better if the HU was flush with the wood grain. The Pioneer unit has a wood grain background that looks pretty good with the stock dash.

jrussell- I was taking a look at your pics in the gallery and was wondering what you have on your rear window? It looks like it's either some sort of lighting or antenna?

I didn't like the fake wood at first either but I'm warming up to it. I actually ordered the slate gray double DIN bezel instead of the wood bezel but got the one pictured with wood on it. I thought they made a mistake when I received what I ordered but it turns out that that the wood bezel has nothing but the wood grain. Whereas the slate gray is mostly the slate gray color with the wood trim around the navigation unit.

The things in the rear window are antennas for the TV tuner. It uses a 4-channel "diversity" antenna system so there's one on each side of the window. Luckily the sliding window just clears it, so there's no interference. EDIT TO ADD: It does work awesome in the city. The pic is so clear it looks more like a digital signal than analog.

I think there are a couple of different bezels that will work. The first one the parts guy pulled had more of the silvery finish. Unfortunately the slate grey one that matched my interior was $30-40 more.

The Alpine Nav, head units, iPod connections, Bluetooth, etc etc. are all THE BEST. Bar NONE. I have been modifying my car stereos for about 12 years now and no one can touch Alpine. Someone may come out with some "neat" feature before Alpine, but no one perfects or makes it as well as Alpine. Whether you just want Mobile Video or audiphile sound, it's the ONLY way to go. Yes it is more expensive but you get what you pay for. I am going with the W200 for my truck since I want to fill up the double din space but have an IVA-D901 in my Lambo, a D310 in my BMW and had a 901 in my H2. They really cannot be beaten. Save up for the Alpine and you WON'T regret it!!!
