I have N-Fab on my truck and I weigh 240 on a good day and have had no problems with them! They mount to the pinch weld but they have a huge backing plate to hold the pressure of the step. They have been on the truck for 2+ years now. The only thing I think I am going to do is put on some skateboard grip tape to the step part! A little slick on the steps when wet! I'm a little slow getting around to things! Obviously not a huge problem! Also thought about just painting the bed-liner stuff on the step section... to match the rocker panels...

My wife wants me to get the N Fabs. So I might go that route. I really just don't like the thought of them attaching to the body. That metal is so weak compaired to the frame.

I have the same truck. I was looking at a 4.5 in lift on 35 Toyo M/T but yours looks good.

What kind of Track bar are you using?

Also I plan on getting the BW Pockets, did you get your painted to match or leave them?

the reason they can charge 500 is
a) the tools to make would cost that and more
b) steel prices are through the roof.
c) most people dont know how to fab, so they pay for it.

I agree, the prices are high, but the steps are no where near as marked up as the flat plate bumpers that are out there. 1500 to 2500 for frigging bumpers, thats just stupid.



As an aside, I made my own steps. They clam shell mount to the frame, are full length, and are quite sturdy. Mine are high and tight for clearance, with just enuf space for your toes to slip under and hook to wash the top of the rig.

sorta hard to see.

I understand the cost of machines and blah blah blah.... But they could make more profit by lowing prices and selling more products. Simple business 101. Rather than trying to make 20% profit on each item, you lower the prices to make say 15% and it becomes more enticing for us the customer to buy them, this now means they will have more buyers and make more money, on top of getting more free advertising by people recommending them and seeing them across town more often.

You fellas with th NFabs, did you have to do any drilling to mount them?

Plug... mine are very similar except I used 2x3x.125 wall rec and 2" dom x .250 tubing and made a hoop step drop so it was easier to climb in. I think this design that we use will help in case of a broad side hit on our trucks. Nice job.

To install the N-fabs you have to drill I think 8 or so times on each side through the pinch seam. One side took about 1 hour and the other side maybe 30 minutes once you get the hang of it.

I do get it is not as strong, but you can easily have two people stand on the steps at one time and they don't move at all.

Not hard at all, but call a friend as only having one person would make it difficult.

I have a Thuren track bar and sway bar end links... That track bar is great and I have yet to break the end links! Unlike the superlift ones that came with the lift...

The pocket flares are plain... provides a little contrast...
