Cool Steps

Just wondering of anyone has run accross steps(not step bars) that mount to the frame and body. The only steps I've found so far just mount to the body only. It doesn't seem like the body mount only would stand up very well.
Thanks

Ranchhand has steps that have brackets that clamp/mount to the frame with no drilling. I have one pair for front doors as I rarely carry passengers. Was about $150 installed at local Ranchhand outlet here in San Antonio. They are powdercoated steel and a bit slippery though when wet. Been intending to spray them for better traction, but after two years haven't got around to it yet...

Yep, they are a bit slippery when wet, but I think ill either get some skateboard grip tape, or like you said, maybe spray/roll on bedliner on the step surface for better traction.

Other than that, I love mine too...

Heres the only two decent pictures I have of them...

I had some Carr hoop steps on my last truck.

They did not mount to the frame like you asked about, but I had them on for three years and had zero problems.

So, if they are mounted correctly I would not sweat it.

Check these guys out, they claim these mount to frame where the cab mounts. The others I saw that looked like these mounted strictly to pinch weld (body)

Mine are also body mount, on the pinch seam. They're AMP Power steps and are the greatest thing since hip pockets on flannel nightgowns.
