THE PROBLEM IS THE BRACE HAS A DOG LEG IN IT, SO IT ISNT FLAT. ALL THE FLEXING IS AT THE BEND

It's a brace - not a billet shaft. You guys are over-thinking this.

yeah i know.....but if it flexes just as much after you put the brace on its really not bracing anything.

It all adds up. Strengthwise, that is.

O.K. a little change in subject.
Put the brace on at noon, took all of 20 minutes. I loosened the 4 bolts holding the track bar in place, let my hand off of it and it stayed in place. I thought it was secure so I looked down at the directions, and WHAP, that SOB swung down and clocked me in the back of the head.
The dodge dealer put the updated steering on my truck, and a new steering gearbox, and didn't torque the bolt holding the pitman arm (supposed to be 180 ft/lb, and was maybe 30 ft/lb).
Very easy install all things aside.

Took her for a drive, and not a huge difference, but definatly less correction needed. I hate driving down a mild grade at 55 mph, and having to slow the truck down for a stoplight, this seems to be the time that it wanders the most. I saw a nice improvement under these circumstances.

I'm in the market for a brace as well. I tend to do a fair amount of turning the wheels while the truck is stationary while parking. Does anyone here know where I can just buy the stationary bearing and shaft adapter? I have mad welding skills and would rather make my own brace.

Bud my B-D brace on last week, it's one of the few that will go one with KORE sway bar spacers.
The hole the steering box shaft goes through is off center but I was still able (barely) to get the bolts through and everything worked out.
I called them to tell them, they said they new about the problem but they checked all their stock to make sure they would all work...

I have the Defiant brace. It does what it says it will - add support to the steering box. It was an easy install, went right in without problems. I also have the shield that Defiant offers.

Same here. So far,so good. Somebody needs to devise a rockshield for the square tubing braces. It's a fragile environment under there.

So after a little research, I've seen that there are 3 choices for a steering brace.
Defiant, Solid Steel, Bd.
Am I missing anybody else, and who has the best price on these?
thanks
DT Pro Fab also makes one. Just found it today while looking for a light bar.175.00

I've got the PSC version. It was very noticable to me, once installed. I think it cures the skipping and looseness in the front end, when you hit bumps in a turn. It just makes the whole front of the truck feel more stable.

It's the same mod we where doing on the 3rd gen Camaros decades ago. Helps stabilize things up front, in areas where there is a lot of force. It's not meant to be a frame member, rather just to stiffen things up.

I tried to install my PSC kit but the sector nut will not thread into the steering box. Looks like the new sector nut is a metric and the steering box is fraction. I called PSC and they claimed it is fraction but said they will send me a new one. I'm excited to install it.
