I have a 2004 2500 Diesel steering box went at 57000mi and my 2006 3500 Diesel went at 14777mi anybody else having these problems

 

Off topic.Theirs a hissing sound coming threw the steering weal it's the power booster.l Dodge won't help. I just got back home from dealer I had a problem with front weal drive universal it was bad thy D/C replace it under warranty.But the Brake power booster is also bad and thy don't make it for 04 any moor now we have to buy a hole lot moor stuff power booster, brackets, master cylinder, and one moor thing. I was pisy win I left Dodge dealer ship got home and called D/C thy will not help, I was mad because thy don't make the booster thats fit not just the hole lot moor money moor than twice as much. $300 something for the booster now over $700 for parts THATS just wrong.

 

If I may lend some advice as to when you do finally get a new steering box on the truck:
I suggest you install a DSS as soon as the new steering box goes on.

my steering box was just replaced at 32,000. It was wet and dealer replaced it no questions asked. I wasn't having any trouble with it either though

 

except at ~34,000 miles, wet and replaced by dealer under warranty. No arm twisting.

 

DSS?? I replaced the power steering unit with a new one on my 2000 Dodge 2500 (everything still stock and 115000 miles). I do believe that this unit provides the power for the brake booster also (please correct me if I'm wrong)...but I still have no power steering. This does lead me to believe it is now tied to the steering box. If I replace the unit, what is this DSS and any recommendations as to where I might get another steering box that won't cost me a small fortune?

I just put it on my list of stuff to make for my truck...

 

I just had my steering box replaced under warranty at 18,500 miles. Some valve hung up in the box and it wouldn't stay on center driving down the road.
