Question Stacks?

I have a 2007 Dodge Mega Cab and i was thinking about doing stacks to it. I was told that it is pretty loud on the inside of the truck and will drown out your sound system. If anyone out there can let me know if it is that loud on the inside i would appreciate it!?

it you have a 6.7 you can't put stacks on it(DPF)

I've got a reg cab with stacks and I can still hear the radio just fine. The only time it is gawd awful loud is when you are wide open, but then you usually enjoy showing off...haha

Depends on the sound system. I have no problems at all, but it is loud, especially with a load behind it.

I was wondering the same thing, I would like to use the 41 inch donaldson muffler with 5" miter stacks. I have also been looking at the bed and might be able to get them to run under the bed.

I had 6 inch mitres on mine with an MBRP resonator. I got tired of trying to keep them covered to cut back on the black spots all over my truck. The noise was terrible. Couldn't hear passengers talking in the back seat when pulling my 26' trailer with 6 4wheelers on it. Went to 5" turbo back and I'm much happier.

That don't sound too loud. Sounds great I think. At the very end you can actually hear his turn signal blinking as he switches to the right lane.

Here is a question for you guys with stacks (and probably a dumb question). Was it a kit you guys bought for the stacks that came with all the pre-bent pipe and stuff, and if it was, is it turbo back?, cat back? or what? Or did you guys do a custom install for the stacks? I'm thinking I want to do this in the spring time so if there are any good links you can give me to places that has the stuff I would appreciate it.

I have a 24" long 5"in 5"out resonator on mine and can hear the stock sound system, have conversations and do not have any drone. I had it staright piped for a DAY and that was enough.

i had the 5in turbo back system installed @ 250 miles after new. Then this summer got a kit and did the stacks myself. It is easy. there are several ways to go about it. you can build your own kit by piecing it together or you can buy a kit.

I'm partial to the single also I'm running a str8 pipe and its LOUD!!! I will try to get a sound clip tomorrow.

I purchased everything I needed at the local Pete dealer!!!!! They had everythin in stock too!!!!

If most dealers have as much instock as the local one here you could probably get everything you need for 2 stacks!!!

Grand Rocks sales a complete kit. Not to hard to install. I have had dual 5" and 6" and they are loud, especially the 6". The 5" were much more tolerable for around town but very loud( in the cab) when towing. I am currently running 6" miters and the noise is extreme at times and vibrates the windows/door panels under excelleration. I am currently trying to find a muffler that will fit between the cat and the turn-up that will drastically lower the noise. I like the look of the 6" but the noise is a little much. If you go with the 5" and want to tone it dowm a little get a MBRP resonater. It will knock alot of the noise down but it is about useless with 6"er's. Not trying to still your thread but does anyone have any info on a muffler that will make these 6" miters quieter? Space is limited with the cat still in place.
