Squeaky front suspension all of a sudden...

I had been hearing a squeaking everytime I hit a bump. Upon inspection I found that one of my front shocks had a blowout. I replaced them with Bilsteins but the squeak was still there and I noticed that it was actually coming from both sides of the truck. I finally ended up spraying all the control arm bushings with silicone spray and it is nice and quiet now. It just seems strange that both sides of the truck started squeaking at the same time...

I think I figured out my problem. I had rigged up my new rear wheelwell liners and wanted them to look pretty so I sprayed some armor-all on them. Of course I had to do the fronts too and I think I just over-sprayed it and got some on the control arm bushings.
Lesson learned....

Armorall'ing wheel well liners? Geez, Mike. Driving the Taurus for a while really did something to you, didn't it...

Yup! It sure does look better that way. I usually use that tire dressing stuff but was out of it so I had to use the Armor-All.
You should try it Broncohound. And why do you have to make fun of my taurus???

Around here, detailing a truck is an exercise in futility. The caliche dust and high coastal winds make for a haze of film all over everything no longer than 5 minutes after you are done washing. Plus I'm just not that detail oriented with the outer cleanliness of this truck. I was with my S2000, my bagged S10, some of my motorcycles, and various other toys, but this one isn't a toy. It's a work truck so she's usually dirty. She gets run through the touchless automatic about once every other week and gets a new coat of wax and a halfway decent "detail" about every 3 months but beyond that she's a dirty girl.

Not knockin the Taurus, Zilla. Just curious as to what that experience DID to you...lol

Oh, believe me, driving that thing for two months without a truck to drive at all definitely did some damage mentally. Ever since then I have this constant urge to load the kids up and take them to a soccer game....

And of course, it starts squeaking every other day and I have to spray more silicone on it. White Lithium does absolutely nothing and WD40 does nothing either.
Anybody else ever have this issue? The more I think about this the more I doubt my Armor All had anything to do with it. I remember a slight squeaking the whole time I have had the truck but it sounded like it was up under the dash. The upper control arm mount is right under the footboard and that's why I was confused. Oh well, I wonder if warranty covers it......
