My 06 2500 CTD 4x4 came with the snow plow package. This package is very usefull do to all the snow we get in the Bay Area, CA .

In my goal to mount 33X12.5 R17s I am still going through the permatations (sp) and all the options.

I am wondering if I can just stick 33's under the truck without doing a level kit and such, due to the fact I have the heavier spring with the SP package? Does the heavier front spring lift the front more than the standard 2500 spring?

You can definately add 33's, and could even run 315/70-17s with very minimal rubbing on the control arms.

PT is correct....315's with little or no rubbing. Yes, your truck sits about 1" higher than the 2500 without the SP options, and I'm very jellious!!!! Thats funny that an SP equipped truck made it all the way to central CA!!!! If you want to level your truck remove the blocks under your rear leaf springs, there are a ton of threads on this and it is easy to do!!! Hope this helps!!!!

PS. when you bought your truck did you have to sign a paper saying that you would NEVER put tire chains on your truck???? even with the SP package???

Nope didn't have to sign anything. Just noticed the Sticker had the snow plow prep package and NO tow hookers .
