Spring decisions

Any insight on variable (Kore) rate springs vs "softer" springs (Thuren)?
I'm trying to decide between the 2 lifts which are similar in price.

On a side note, does anyone have a good lead for Bilstein 5100's as well?

I'm interested in this too, right now I'm running sean lorenz's "infinate rate" coils and am considering switching to something a bit softer due to the amount of time I'm on the road.

From what I have heard, KOREs springs and Lorenz's coils are too stiff. The KORE springs are somewhere around 100 lb heavier than mine! Even with them this soft I still haven't bottomed the shock. I suggest both you guys give Don Thuren a call.

VR or IR springs are a gimmick. I've seen both installed, and both are well within an inch of coil bind on the lower rate and way oversprung on the higher rate.

I've seen at least 4 pair laying on the shop floor because they don't work very well.

If you plan on running them on the Mega with Bilstiens, I'd suggest a 400-420lb coil rate.

You can get them through Don or Sage Carli. Sage can get you the coils and Billy's for a package price.

Call Sage or Paul and tell 'em Conrad sent ya....they'll take good care of you.

I would say stay away from the standard KORE VR spring, it will be way too stiff for you. You Really need to talk to Don he has a handle on dialing the spring rates.

I've been talking to Don and his customer service pretty much made the sale for him. I couldn't get any help out of the KORE dealers, so I ordered from Don this morning. Can't wait to install

I was originally sold on VR springs after putting them in my Jeep- huge difference in ride/performance.

I'll let you know how these work!
