Lightbulb Splicing cargo light wiring???

Okay, this may seem like a dumb idea to some, but I kinda think it could REALLY come in handy...

Bought one of these about a year ago and have always wanted the ability to turn on while in the cab and NOT in reverse...

How hard would it be to tap the cargo light wiring with a relay that turns on my backup lights? Anyone have a wiring diagram and best/easiest place to cut? Want to think this through before whipping out the dikes.

Also, I haven't played around and paid that much attention yet - this was just a passing thought, but do the cargo lights come on at any other time? Like when a door is open or when the doors unlock? Any other combinations I'm not thinking of?

EDIT - it's an 06 megacab, sorry guys, keep leaving my signature off...

Yeah the cargo light comes on when you unlock. I'm not sure but I think it comes on when you open the door too.

There should be multiple wires that separate the actual switch of the cargo lights and the automatic illumination feature. I don't have the diagram but I figure it's a pretty feasible option. On my 92', when I changed the gear shifter to one that had overdrive on the end of it, there were separate wires for the light and the actual overdrive function, so I would be it's the same way with the cargo light's on newer trucks.
