Dome Light / Cargo Light Switch
Dome Light / Cargo Light Switch
I think I read somewhere on this sight about someone re-wiring the headlight switch so that the cargo light came on before the dome light. This way you could see into the bed of the truck without the glare of the dome light on the rear window.
I am pretty good when it comes to electrical and mechanical thing, and I tried swapping the wires on the switch when I had it out to install my gauges on the "A" pillar. I did not have the time to look into it at the time, because my main objective was to install the gauges. Before I pull it back out again, can anyone point me to that topic, or tell me if they have done this. I did a search, but came up empty.
Thanks for any input,
Darrin

Re:Dome Light / Cargo Light Switch
I"m with you Darin,I too would like to know? Mine is a 94 and I also want to come off the cargo light with power to light the inside of the tool box,as when the lid is raised I cannot see anything. So whoever answers would it be alright to add another small light off of the cargo light with no problems??
Re:Dome Light / Cargo Light Switch
There is a purpose for the interior light to come on first. It is illegal to drive down the highway with a 'white' light shining to the rear. So, they made it so that if you, or a passenger, are using the interior light there will be no light to the rear.
In order to be legal I would like for the light switch for the cargo light to be turned on with a totally separate switch. So, Gurus, how do I do that?
