Speaker Wire ??

I'm going to add an amp and sub to my Infinity system in the next couple of days, does any one know of the easiest place to tap into the speaker wires, also the colors? If memory serves me I think I read somewhere that there is no bass sent to the rear speakers, can anyone confirm? Thanks

555 You are absolutely correct. There is no bass to the rear speakers. I found out the hard way. That was Me saying "What the hell is wrong with this POS Amp" That was also Me saying 1 hour later "you dumbass". You can access the speaker wires in the passenger kick panel very easily. You'll like the way it sounds when your done. Mine is great IMO. All the local shops said it could'nt be done, "you have to replace the head unit" they all said. Wrong! Good luck.

Oh man I'm getting conflicting info here, I found this on another site;

Left Dash Speaker (+) Gray with Orange Stripe
Left Dash Speaker (-) Gray with Yellow Stripe

Right Dash Speaker (+) Gray with Dark Green Stripe
Right Dash Speaker (-) Gray with Light Green Stripe

Left Front Door Speaker (+) Dark Green with Yellow Stripe
Left Front Door Speaker (-) Dark Green with Light Blue Stripe

Right Front Door Speaker (+) Gray with Yellow Stripe
Right Front Door Speaker (-) Gray with Light Blue Stripe

Left Rear Door Speaker (+) Gray with Light Green Stripe
Left Rear Door Speaker (-) Gray with Dark Green Stripe

Right Rear Door Speaker (+) Dark Green with Light Green Stripe
Right Rear Door Speaker (-) Dark Green with Gray Stripe

Which is not the same as what irocin350 posted. Irocin350 is that for the infinity?

I can't find my info for my 04.5 but I know that Crutchfield info for an 04 was wrong . I had to call Alldata and they sent me info for an 05 and that was correct so I know it is not the same as an 03. Your wire colors that you just listed sound correct but I'm only going from memor.

I did it yesterday, I finally just broke down and pulled off the door panel. I sure like the way these trucks come apart, no stupid x-mas tree clips to bust. For my right door speaker it was blue/red, and blue/black. Go figure. But for anyone who was wondering if you are happy with your Infinity for the most part, a sub is a great addition. Not ready for competions or anything but it filled the sound out nicely!

This is the wiring code I used for mine when I did my sub and speakers:\

left front:
(+) green w/ yellow tracer
(-) green w/ blue tracer

left rear:
(+) gray w/ light green tracer
(-) gray w/ dark green tracer

right front:
(+) gray w/ yellow tracer
(-) gray w/ blue tracer

right rear:
(+) gray w/ light green tracer
(-) gray w/ dark green tracer

turn on: pink w/ yellow tracer
2 grounds: black or black w/ yellow tracer

Guys, I am also in the same boat with a new to me Infinity ref 310 power amp to power a pair of Infinity ref 12 inch woofers currently in a sealed box ready for install. I pulled the factory deck and noticed that there are audio L, audio R and audio Grnd on the factory harness. Are these speaker level, pre amp level or just a control circuit. Can they be used for the inputs or is the only way to connect the subwoofer amp with line level converters. This post is great so far. I'm a 2003 with Infinity system. Thanks ks

Oh yeah forgot, where did everyone tap into the 12v powersupply for the amp. We have 8 guage wire available for power. The amp is bridged and the speakers are 4 ohms in parallel and 2 ohms in series, right?? We are going to be using a significant amount of power when and if it gets cranked. Your expert help is muchly appreciated. Thanks ks
