Last weekend I finally bit the bullet and bought a new-to-me truck. It's a 03 3500 quad cab, SRW, 4x4. After driving it for almost a week now I've come one conclution. This is a nice truck.
My kids are happy for the xtra room they have over the extended cab chevy I had before.
Mileage has been pretty good too. I don't know how accurate the over head consol is but it's showing 20.5 mpg average. I'll verify that with the old calculater as I get more miles on it.

I'm now looking forward to a summer trip to Myrtle Beach pulling the camper.

I know you will enjoy the truck. Too bad you got it when to fuel prices are so high.

Mine don't have the overhead, but if you'll do some reading here, I think you will find that it's not real accurate.

Wouldn't you know it, the day I picked it up fuel went up 20 cents per gallon.
But, I do figure I'm still saving money on fuel cost as my gas truck I traded in did not get very good mileage. And the suburban we also traded in only got 11mpg with a tailwind.

I'm gonna have to find the wife a diesel minivan now.

 

Couple of my friends with 03s check mileage by hand and overhead.Sometimes its almost spot on.Sometimes off by 2 mpg.Its a average.

 

Mine was dead on until I started BOMBing it.
