Spare Tire

When I bought my truck the spare tire was missing. I have tried several sources and cannot find one other than ordering one from Dodge dealer for 163.00 plus freight. Can anyone suggest where to look for one? Part of the jack handles are also missing if anyone knows of a source for those too.

Have you tried your local salvage yards. Most have numerous spares that probably never seen pavement off of wreck trucks. While you are there you can also look for your jack handles. Otherwise, try E-bay or the OEM Catatlog at NewDodgeParts.com.

The rims are $100 in the salvage yard here. They'll also be able to help with the tire tools. Clint Palmer Auto Parts in Irondale.

I would look at local tire companies for a stock take off, I got an H2 tire that was used for about 30 bucks...

You should also post in the classifieds on this forum. A lot of folks on here have upgraded to larger tires and may have an original spare that will no longer work on their vehicles that they may be willing to part with cheap or even free.

Thanks for all the replies. I have called most of the major salvage yards around here including one that specializes in trucks. I have called one or two tire stores and they have not been much help. My friend that owns a tire store and could not get one gave me a number for a company in CA that sells used rims but they did not have one in stock so I am going to call them back in a week or so. I do insurance restoration work and we have been real busy with frozen water lines drying out wet houses and buildings so I have not had a lot of time to look. Today was day 13 straight without a day off and I had 40 hours of overtime last week. Maybe it will slow down a little and I will get more time to look. Does anyone know if I order the one from Dodge if it includes the tire or is it just the wheel?
