Somebody stole my diesel

Filled up the truck Sunday night anticipating the cost going up because of Katrina.

Had not driven it since and went out this morning and started the truck and noticed the guage registered just under 1/2 tank. Some *&^$@% siphoned out 1/2 tank. There was a small stain on the pavement at the fuel door, hope this was from getting a mouthful of diesel.

Can you get one of those locking gas caps at Auto Zone or somewhere that will fit these trucks?

Thanks.

Locking fuel cap is available at your dealer. Most dealers I have stepped into around the country stock them too! About $12 I think. I have had one on since the truck was new.

Definetely get a locking fuel cap...NOW! My 97 ram 2500 had it and the Pontiac Grand Prix has it. Both don't come factory. What are the American automakers thinking? All the imports come with 'em. Gee I'm buying a 40K truck soon and I gotta run down to Napa/Riebes the 1st week and buy a $10 locking fuel cap.
Trust nobody...if you're driving around without one, look out, because it's only going to get worse.

I have a locking cover, nice cause it was tuff to find a locking Cap (well for me it was at least) I like the cover cause they can't break into or even get to the cap. Those plastic caps arn't all that bad to break off.

I do agree with the price of diesel, things are gonna get ugly.......Bought time

Diesel is 2.97 up here in RI

A few days ago, news reports out of Colorado Springs, stated gas thiefs were going under the vehicles and drilling holes in the fuel tanks and draining them! Not only do you have the loss of fuel, but you have to fix or replace your tank.

I got the Mopar cap from Geno's. I also need to get one for the wife's Tahoe. These days it makes a lot of sense since we're carrying around up to $100 in easily accessible currency.

I cannot believe how some poeple in this nation only make it worse by doing stupid crap like that. I sure hope I don't catch anyone sticking their hose in my tank. I'm sure hope that buck shot doesn't ruin my fender! Losers.

Never forget a pic I saw of a hose sticking out of a fuel tank on an RV with a pile of vomit next to it. Someone sucked in a little too much.

me and Mr Ruger can stop any fuel thief. I like the 44 mag better then the buck shot because there is only one hole to fix.

Yeah, shoot 'em. I like the signature on this board that says, "If all else fails, shoot 'em in the head." Just be sure to put a baseball bat or knife in their hands when you're done and when the police show up start sobbing like a frightened child.

Don't worry about the "Bat and Knife" covering your butt here in Texas!!

It is Legal to use deadly force to protect your property after dark, whether you're inside or out.

Hell, you can also chase someone down leaving your property with your property and shoot them if that's what it takes to get your property back. Even if it takes you 3 miles to catch them.

Learned this from a 35 Year DPS Trooper that taught at the Police Academy out there at TCJC-NW. It's in the "Blue Bible", The GOULDES. Most officers will not suggest this, but if anyone ever does use this tactic, it will not make it past a grand jury inquiry if their attorney was on the ball.

I wasn't born in Texas but I sure wish I would have been. Highest death penalty count (by far) than any other state!!! I love this state!
