Sirius Anntena

I am looking to relocate my sirius anntena on my 07.5 3500. Does anyone know where the receiver box is located?

When I load my truck camper, I lose my Sirius signal. My plan is to relocate near the front of the truck/hood.

Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure the radio itself is the "receiver box".

Just buy a new antenna from circuit city and relocate. I wouldn't remove the stock unit.

I had to move mine because of my Lance camper also. I used a round magnetic Sirius antenna, got it at Best Buy. Just leave the stock one on the cab.

There is a connection point in the passenger kick panel. Dodge uses a connector that has a plastic clip setup on it. The Sirius antenna plug looks a little different but it does mate up with the connector in the kick panel. I ran the wire throught the same rubber boot as the radio antenna, then up throught the front fender, left a loop at the hood hinge, across the back of the hood, and out to the antenna. Had to drill some small holes on the ridged hood insulation for some snap ties. I coiled up the extra wire behind the battery. Just left the stock antenna unplugged by the connection point in the kick panel.

If you have any questions just give me a shout. The antenna works great with my camper on. Here is a pic of what it looks like.

How does that magnetic antenna work for you? Ive heard mixed results about it cutting in and out quite a bit. I need to get an antenna and I cant decide between the OEM drill style, or the magnetic one from Best Buy/CC

Seems to be just as good as the stock antenna on top of the cab for reception. It stays put also, hasn't moved since I put it on many months ago.

I have a magnet style on mine and it works great, I also would leave the old alone because theres a big hole under it. In my 02 1/2 ton new style the receiver is under drivers side dash just above the park brake mount, I think the kit from mopar said they are the same from 02-04 for a quad cad . Think the newer ones are behind the kick panel or behind the glove box.

the stock sirius antenna... are there holes in the roof where the wires come from or do they slip through the third brake light?

I have an aftermarket receiver and just have the antenna laying on top of the dash. It works just fine like that. I'm not too crazy about the way it looks on the outside of the truck and I dont want it to mess up the paint.

my new ford has a angled antenna on the front corner on the passenger side of the roof. i have not lost reception once in the same areas the dodge antenna would. the gm antenna is also in the same spot. they must do this for a reason......

I did the exact same thing because I carry a camper too. It works pretty good but for some reason when it is moist outside I lose reception
