Shell Rotella T

Guys;

I came across a post on another site advising not to use Rotella as "they are not up to date with their additives". I have been using this oil on the advice of a number of posts from this and other sites. I am hoping this was just someone spouting off about the Rotella but if anyone has any info to pass on about this possibility it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Send all of your Rotella T to my PO Box for disposal.

I don't know about not being up to date and all but I have run it for 15 years so far.

The only problem with Rotella is the rose-smella! Otherwise its a perfectly good oil.

I've used it for the past 16 yrs in my trucks everything from Detroit, Caterpiler, and in a Cummins. As you might deduct these have all been semi's. My current Western Star has 873,000 on it and going strong.
I just got my Megacab in Dec. and will run Rotella in it as well.

Sounds like some more SpAmsoil propaganda to me . Rotella is good oil and if changed regular your engine will out last the rest of your truck using it . I can't understand all the worry about oil in these engines , it is not like there is a great number of engine failures due to oil . I myself have never seen a Cummins fail due to oil or even heard of one , it is not a big problem , run what you like , just make sure it is diesel rated . That's my .02 worth , I have used Rotella for years in all my diesels . Very few of these engine seem to acquire the use of farm tractors , construction equipment and over the road trucks and a great deal of them guys run Rotella . I do not know of any of these guys running Amsoil , not saying there are not any , I just have not seen any .

I have never used Rotella and never will. That being said, I think it is the numbe r one diesel oil used the world over-just my opinion. You cannot go wrong with it. Shell puts a lot of money and technology into that oil. Use with confidence. Don't listen to the Rotella bashers

I started to use Rotella T when I bought my CTD in 04.5 40,000 miles later, I still use it and will continue to use it until I either sell the truck or the good Lord tak-ith me away...Which I hope he will wait for about 30+ more years.
