That video is hilarious. That is how I did mine with the the exception of the fishing line. I used 40lbs braid.

Fishing line, lighter fluid, and a teflon spatula. Worked great.

Don't waste your time doing it without the eraser wheel, I spent an hour or better on the tailgate with adhesive remover. But then I went the next day and got the wheel and it took me about 5 minutes a side to do the doors. I used the wheel on an electric drill.

I'm in the middle of doin mine, my tailgate is done but i still need to do the doors, i bought a eraser wheel, they didn't carry the 3M brand, so i bought a off brand, it works good but produces alot of dust, is this normal? When i did my tailgate i used some miguires scratch-x and works great to clean everything up!

The 'dust' is normal. It's the urethane wheel being consumed by the adhesive left behind.

Got the badges off with 12lb fihing line.. 2.50 @ wal-mart... going to pick up a 3m wheel... I'm sure the rest of the paint has faded so the paint under the badges is going to stick out like a sore thumb.... What are you guys using to "blend it" so it doesnt stand out so much?

I just did all of mine including the door moulding, can't even tell they were there! The eraser wheel worked amazing. I did the tailgate a while ago and took the crap off by hand, took forever and still didn't get it all off, the eraser wheel makes very short work of it A tiny bit of ghosting on the tailgate, but nothing some wax won't take care of, it's really not that bad, especially considering i've got a 04.

Half way done. That 3m wheel is amazing. So far so good. no paint fade, but i do have ghosting. Hopefully a good waxing will take care of that. Thanks Mocho!.... The "Sport Look" transformation has begun... muwahahaha!

Ours looks good w/o the door badges at 10ft., but you can see a slight outline from fade up close. I'm hoping time, sun and good polish/wax or two will blend that out over the years:

After the fishing line removal I used eight and ten-year old little girl's fingers and nails to pick off the remaining adhesive. Took them about a half hour.

tailgate is done. the ghosting/fading is evident. it was easily removed with 3M polishing compound, followed with a good waxing.

It goes away on it's own on both of my trucks. If you buff just that one spot it will be obvious. I did my old truck and buffed out one spot and it was obvious I buffed there, hard to explain but it was obvious I buffed there since the paint was like smoother there.

I jumped on a forum and someone said let the rest of them fade in and it worked out. Blended in quick.... I just think that paint under there isn't cured since it has been sealed in. So I'd try waiting first.

As to the original question... Hair dryer, fishing lines, rolling up the left over black stuff with my finger tips and wiping the area down with 3m adhesive remover... Pretty easy job.
