seats

I have a 06 Mega cab, love the truck, hate the seats. I loaned my truck to my father-in-law, his wife dumped a huge cup of coffee all over the front seats. I have a small tear in the seat front climbing in and out of the truck, the kids have spilled chocolate milk and cokes all over the back seat. I don't like the fact that the material stains easily, the wife says the seats aren't near as comfortable as the seats what was in my 05 truck. My question is what years will interchange with my 06? Will heated seats from a later truck fit? Power pass seat? Leather? Or would I be better off sticking with what is suppose to be in the truck? My wife would LOVE heated seats. If I do swap in heated seats, whats involved in making the functional? I assume there is a timer module. Lastly, anybody in readerland know of any salvage yards around the Indianapolis area that specialize in trucks and truck parts?

The easiest install will be stock seats from another truck. To find out what seats fit directly, go to the bone yard and look it up in the Hollander Interchange Manual.

If you're will to modify or fab mounts, you can fit pretty much anything. I remember seeing a truck that had cadillac seville seats installed. He said the mods were not that difficult, and the power/heated seats were really comfy.

The 4th gen front seats bolt directly into a 3rd gen, but the back seats require a bit of modifying If I recall.

Got any ideas what kind of modifications? Rather not buy a set of seats only to find they wont go in without tons of fabrication. Thanks!

Well, I'm not exactly sure what he had to do. But it didn't require welding. I remember that he had a couple chunks of aluminum bolted in there to adapt the factory cadillac sliders to the dodge pedestals.
