Seat belt chime annoying!!!

When moving or parking my 5th this chime is driving me nuts. I disconnected the plug at the seat belt under the seat , no luck. Is there a fuse or how do I defeat this chime. I always use my belts otherwise. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to DTR. I've found the best way to rid myself of the chime when manuvering my 5th is to click it together as designed. It isn't that big a deal.

Disconnect that plug again, then use a little wire to jump across the two sides of the receptacle and reconnect the plug. That fools the system into thinking the seatbelt is connected.

Also - check your owners manual. There is a procedure there to disable the chime but the seatbelt light on the dash will stay on.

I agree with you...I ALWAYS use my seatbelt when driving - but it's not needed when maneuvering around a camping spot!

Thumbs up

As per manual for my 07:

1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any position except On or Start, buckle the driver's seat belt.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

The system can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

Just tried it out and it works.

Not sure if the buckles are the same as on my 05 but I took the front middle seat belt and snapped it into mybelt ...no more dingy ding and No light which is a bonus over programming off the dinger.....you still can use the middle belt latch for your own belt when needed , its a handy solution so I hope your buckles match No one ever rides in the front middle of my truck anyway
