rust
so I was washing the car today to get all the saltwater off.....iowa has this thing about salting the roads whenever the feel like it, even if its dry out, and not gonna snow. I guess they are bored here.....any way, I noticed a smaaaaaaaaalllllllll spot of rust on the rear door, I mean about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. but I know how rust thinks, and it likes to spread QUICK. what should I do to stop anything bad from happening?

Keep looking there's going to be a lot more coming. You can use polishing compound and rub them out or clay bar the truck. It's usually from airborn metals getting on the paint. On my light colored cars and trucks, I would go over it every Spring and polish them out. I claybar my vehicles once a year as well. It gets all the contaminants off the paint and creates a nice smooth surface for polishing and waxing.

Have noticed the same thing on my light colored trucks in the past. Seems like it was always after we got snow, probably metal shavings from the plows getting on the truck. They wax off pretty easily with a good cleaner wax.
