Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
BamBam, are you sure they delivered the right truck to you. There is one of those LOW RIDERS in East Los Angeles raising Cain on another forum says his 2003 Ram diesel he'd customized, with built-in bounce and all the good stuff was taken from his driveway.

Says his girl-friend is mucho tougher than any two hombres. She is out looking for his truck. Better tell your wife not to hollar too much about the bump.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATEVER HAPPENED TO WANTABEE AND HIS 2003 WITH THE MISSING REAR AXLE???
:'(
Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
You and the little Missus can borrow my 93 Dodge 1-ton for a week or so and find out what pain really is. Might I further suggest driving across sage-brush and cow-trails with the 93. Poked eyes and bruised noggins will be minor compared to the fractures, contusions, and other maladies dealt out by this posture destroyer. Perhaps then she will treat your new truck with the taj-mahal respect and reverence it deserves... but then again maybe not.
My wifey will not even get in our 92 or 93, because a) they are so high off the ground that she must take a running leap to clear the sill, and or she accuses me of trying to cop a grope in assisting her (guilty as charged) :P and b) they ride like a train that has left the tracks. Anyway, i hope you two get it figured out to both of your satisfaction. Hey....I just thought...we could trade your '03 or my '93 for a week or so. That would solve your problem, and help with my axiety attacks waiting for my 03 to get here. Just let me know!

Old School

Old School

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
Hey, Old School, In my pre-college days, there was this old (?) cotton farmer bout 15 or so miles away near Marana, AZ. Every once in awhile all of us guys, not "dry behind the ears, would hanker for some excitement at his farm.
We'd hop in the back of his 1950 DODGE Pickup, Military Green, with our 22 cal rifles at dusk for a Jack Rabbit hunt. Now this farmer would drive the truck across the desert, dodging gopher holes, rattle snake holes and the like. Circling and a swerving to miss bushes and trees of various kinds,as well as Cholla Cactus. The object of the driver was to draw a bead with his headlights on some poor Jack Rabbit chasing Jack around the desert.
Since Jack followed a path of a "drunken sailor" across the desert, the Old Green Dodge with the five or six "Riflemen" bounced around in the truck bed like clothes in Mom's Old Maytag Washer every Monday. The tires of that Old Dodge desecrated many a gopher hole and greasewood bush got mowed down in the great chase. There were lots spent 22 cartridges, but Jack seldom needed to worry bout taking any lead, more chance of him dying of a heart attack.
Talk about bouncin in a truck. That Old Dodge was not made for comfort, just work.

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
Is it possible you have a seized shock in the back? Try disconnecting the shocks and see if that makes any difference. Have you compared it to a similar truck on your dealer's lot?

Casey
Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
Hey this would be funny if it was not MY truck...but I have driven a 2500 and drives real nice...I think it's a shock problem but the 5****** dealer will not give me the time of day...

Check to see that them Ferd Owners didn't put a block of wood between the frame and rear axles. They have a real strange sense of humor them Furd guys think all truck owners should have trucks that ride like theirs, frame on axle wagon ride.

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
The dealer wanted to look at it again..says they got a new tool to check the shocks to see if they are in spec. They pug cheep shocks on these trucks anyway...I have replaced all of them on the last three trucks and made a big difference. If they cant find anything (and I doubt they will) it will be Rancho 9000X for me...$259 at 4WP.
Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
Too bad for the ride problem. I don't have any of those problems and the only difference is I have the SO Ca engine. I would try putting 50lbs in the front and 40lbs in the rear tires when you aren't loaded. The only other thing to try is to rotate the tires front to back to see if its the tires themself.
Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
My truck is the same configuration as yours. I think it rides as good as or better than my 01.5 2500 4x4 Quadcab HO with overloads did. You might check the spring eye bolts to make sure they are not over tightened. Too tight equals no spring flex. In the mean time you better tell your wife to put her makeup on before leaving home. ;D Sorry but I just couldn't resist.
Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??
Good idea on both accounts...will check the spring eye bolts...I have had problems with that in prior trucks...might be the ticket...thanks
