Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??

Do you have a web site for that product? I think part of the problem is the 17&quot; rims have less air or profile which makes for a rougher ride. I may have to go to the 315 70 r17 to get more air....

MORryde has a neat suspension package for the trucks that they say will really help smooth them out. No air bags to worry about or pump up.

BamBam,<br><br>The height of the 265-70 sidewall is 185.5 mm or 7.30 inches.<br>The height of the 265-75 sidewall is 198.8 mm or 7.82 inches.<br><br>The 70s are 93% of the height of the 75s. I have the LT265x70R-17E on my 2500 and have an excellent ride my wife loves. Since you have Goodrich tires I believe you have the A/T which has a much stiffer sidewall than the Michelins. <br><br>One thing you did not mention is what gear you have in the truck bed. Is it empty or loaded? Most trucks ride much better with 300-500# in the bed. On the other hand if there is enough load to where the helper springs are loaded or nearly so the ride will deteriorate. <br>:'(<br><br>Hope this helps.

No one ever said a 1 ton truck would ride like a Lexus. Hopefully you didn't sell the truck on her by using that line. I think we all agree big trucks require big tires, springs, shocks, etc. <br><br>You need some more weight in the truck to soften the ride. That trick worked wonders in my trucks. I wouldn't recommend asking her to pack some on to help....... Mileage won't suffer much either.

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??

800 bucks for the rear air bag system. That on a 40g truck is a cheap upgrade IMO. Weight will help also. If you put 500 or 800 lbs in it might wanna have the alignment checked again just to ensure it is within spec. Always have this done after an aftermarket body is installed and loaded (ie road mechanics) I think a guy YOGI on the other board had it done and was raving about the difference. He puts on high mileage towing trailers or hotshot work I believe.

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??

I test drove the 2500 and the 3500 thru a construction site when I bought the 3500...no difference in ride. So that could not be it...altough when it gets on the overloads now that is a different story...I got the single rear wheel. The wife just about poked out her eye this morning putting on the eye makeup....WOOPSSSSS

Bam,<br><br>Is yours a 4WD? Mine rides better than my '98 1500 gasser did and I constantly get complements on how well it does ride. I did upgrade to shocks to Rancho 9000's, but even before, she rode very nice. Don't get me wrong, it a little bumpy when you hit the speed bumps or rail road crossings at full speed, but still very nice for the load this truck can haul or pull.<br><br>

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??

As you can see below I have the 4X4. It does ride rough on bumpy roads. (Most roads are bumpy where I live) I installed the Rancho 9000's and that made a small difference. I really notice the difference when I add a bit of weight. I threw a piece of 4x4 wood behind the wheel wells and then added a couple of sandbags behind that. The Rancho's plus the weight makes the rough roads not too bad. My picky wife does not complain even when she goes from her smooth riding Infiniti to the truck so that says a lot!<br>BTW, I painted the wood and the sandbags black to blend it into the black of my liner. My wife complained more about the contrast between the wood and the liner than the ride. (Told you she was picky!)

Re:Rough Ride and getting rougher..??

This is worse that just a rought ride...its like I have air shocks pumped up all the way...it bounces down the road. Now it did not start out this way...it just keeps getting worse. It will give you a headace just bouncing down the road. It's at the 5***** dealer now and they are looking at it.

BamBam, have you tried lubricating the spring pack? Lubricating the spring pack with motorcycle chain lube will help the springs slide against each other. When the springs start to rust this will cause the springs to bind against each other. I do this about twice a year and it does help the ride.<br><br>MikeyB
