Rotor Replacement Question

It's getting time to replace my front pads again, and the rotors as well. Question: Is there any significant difference in buying the slotted, cross-drilled, super grippy, quick stoppy aftermarket rotors, or are the OEM replacement ones just as good? My truck is basically stock (see sig) and I'm not going for looks. However, a reduction in brake dust would be a plus. Not sure if that can be helped with new rotors or if it's just a question of better pads.

Don't beleive fancy rotors are any improvement, although I'm sure the "pay more for it better" crowd will nay me to death. I have good luck with autozone and Advance auto's lines of premium pads. Torque lug nuts is worthwhile.

I'm good with the Autozone pads. They have a lifetime warranty and since I changed the pads for a friend on their '05 I have an extra set. Saves me the time of buying new pads, taking the old ones off and getting my refund. Just take the old pads in, swap for new ones and keep the ones I take off the truck for the next time. I guess I'll stay with the OEM replacement rotors. Worked for me for the last 158,000 miles, I'm sure they'll be good for the next 158,000 miles as well.

Do the auto zone pads squeek? I always heard if you don't want noisy brakes, you should get factory pads.

Always a day late, and a dollar short.

The slotted/drilled rotors help dissipate heat better, cleans the dust away from the pads, and add extra grip, pads will last longer. I'm getting a set next week.

I used to like the lifetime pads on the '98, until their hard compound wore out the rotors - so I bought GhettoZone's lifetime rotors...

I haven't had any problems with them squeaking. Coat them liberally with the anti-squeak and ride on. I'm at 160,000 and this is the third replacement (factory set plus two sets from Autozone so far).
