rims

correct me if i am wrong, but did the 2500's in 03 and 04 not come with either 16"rims and 17"rims?????
i have a set of 16"rims, that look like they are not going to fit with out grinding a little from the rear caliper.
has onyone here done this , and can anyone tell me if this is a bad thing?
it looks like a lot of cooling fins on the rear calipers, and i am sure 3/8" wouldn't hurt, that about all i should need to get the rims to clear.
and for the guys running 315's , what did you do or use to re cal the speedo???
this is the tire size i want to run, but don't really want to run them on the factory rims(17")
any help or info would be great.

If you do a search (when it's enabled), you'll see lots of threads on 315's and wheel sizes. I don't think anyone here has tried to squeeze 16" rims on. As for the 315's, lots of guys here have them on their stock rims - both the aluminum or steel clad. To recalibrate the speedo, you need to do it through the ECU. The dealership can enter in the appropriate revolutions per mile into the truck's computer and it will recalibrate fine. I know BF Goodrich has the revs/mile on their website, but not sure about others.

I tried to squeeze 16.5's on my 03 2500 with no luck... I tried it on the front and not the rear... although I think I've heard they will on the rears because there's just enough brake missing back there.

16" wheels will NOT fit, unless you down grade the whole brake system, which would not be a good thing to do. All gen 3 rams come with 17" wheels from the factory.
