Replacement Radio

I have been searching threads but have really not found an answer. My stock Infinity 6 CD changer in my 2004 1/2 truck is starting to flake out on me. CD's skipping, or not starting on Track 1. I would like to replace it, but cannot find information on what to get. Here are my requirements:

1. 6 CD changer
2. Play MP3 CD's
3. aux input (for I-Pod or other MP3 player)
4. Still be able to use my steering wheel controls

Is there a stereo that meets my requirements?

Thanks in advance!

Brian

My suggestion is to go aftermarket. I have an Alpine cd/ipod stereo that I bought......installed.........for around $200.00. Then I have an Ipod. Once you get the Ipod loaded up........you can just throw all of your cd's in a box and forget about them. You can create playlists of your favorites on ITunes.

Oooops....sorry I missed the requirement about steering wheel controls. Mine never had them anyway....

I still recommend aftermarket though. Good luck with it.

I agree about going aftermarket. I just don't know which one fills my four requirements. I really do like the steering wheel controls, and would miss them if I didn't have them!

Check with Crutchfield. The sell head units that meet those requirements. For the steering wheel controls, they sell an adapter/control box. It's pretty pricey, though, at about $150.

Instead of a 6 disc MP3 player, you might consider a single DVD player. Hold about the same amount of music on 1 disc instead of 6.

I bought a used factory 6 disc changer off e-bay a couple weeks ago for $160. Simple R&R and done. No tap in for iPod, though.
