Removing Emblems

I just purchased my first personal Dodge Truck (2005 2500QC SB) and want to remove all the "chrome" looking emblems (ie... "RAM 2500", etc'''). The question is are they all just on there with adhesive or do they have pins that go thru the body skin? Are they plastic or metal that could be powdercated?
I am just starting with all the mods and performance parts etc... are on order; I can't wait I feel like a teenager fixing this truck up.

Solarram - all you need to do is get a heat gun or hot hair dryer, some fishing line, and 3m adhesive remover. Heat the letters up, and slide the fishing line behind them. It will cut thru the warm adhesive like butter, and the badges will come right off. Then just spray the goo with the 3m adhesive remover and let it soak for a minute. Wipe and repeat until there is no more goo. It's crucial to take your time here, and not try to scrape the goo off too much, as you don't want to scratch your paint. Good luck, it's easy.

I used fishing line, slowly as I didn't heat it, and goo remover. I removed the Cummins badge as I was going to get the previous badge with 'cummins turbodiesel', but now I can't find any. I also removed 'heavy duty' from the rear as the axle speaks for itself.

SolorRam, take your time. I took mine off in a hurry and spent more time polishing out the fine scratches than it was worth.

I did not know about the fishing line when I did mine. Used a plastic putty knife. Ya I know, "wing nut" of the year award right here!!!!!

Good luck and welcome aboard!!!!

Braided fishing line works best! No heat Just take your time and take one at a time by hand, best for you, best for finish!!! Wax afterwards.

Those who Know trucks are looking at me

Man! I love those Solar yellow trucks! I almost bought one but it didn't have a six speed and I really wanted the manual if I was going to go through the hassle of getting a new truck. Personally, though, I think the yellow looks awesome with more chrome, not less. Those black wheels look pretty good though.....

SolarRam, sweet truck, it'll look good without the chrome, BTW those wheels are very cool.

Well, I got the logos off but I was not careful enough and have a few spots where the paint pulled off; but it should touch up ok. I should have made the dealer do it though...

I will add pics next week, I just rec'd 6 boxes of goodies to put on. I also got my new exaust and air induction intake today, what a gas....
