Talking Rear Cab Window

I was looking into swaping out my rear manual sliding window for a non-sliding single piece of glass..... The gentleman at the glass shop told me that you could not remove the glass without it breaking and the only thing to do is buy a new rear window and have it installed... Has anyone had any experience with this? and if it is possible is there a specific method?

Surely they can pull it out without breaking it, it would seem its more work with broken glass and several pieces to pull out, instead of running around the outside edge and pulling it as one piece, but ive never pulled glass out so I can say for sure

As for putting in the solid glass, like he said, just change it out, piece of cake once the old one is out(for a glass guy)

i just had my rear glass window installed. Sliders and whole window are same price. New windows cost 400-550 bucks and labor will run 50-250. Guy in houston got me a used 1 with hairline scratches installed for 300 bucks. Cant see the scratches with tint and HAR. lol beats 500-650 bucks invoice from other glass companys and dealerships

You can easily remove windw glass with a guitar string. Get a cheap set at the front of Walmart in thier First Act section of kids instruments.

Take the smallest wire, cerfully poke it thru the joint, get a buddy, and both of you wrap it around a wood stick. Together, carefully work your way around the window like cutting a big hunk of cheese. If you break the string, go to the next smallest. You have 6 to work with.

This will work. I've done it.

FYI. After this weeknd, I've bought my last sliding window. Too easy to break into. Just fixed mine with metal tabls so it will never open again. Now I have to go radio and dash bezel shopping.
