Re:Railyard QC?????

Has anyone heard anything recently about when this "inspection" process will be completed? My truck is sitting in a rail yard in NC (for nearly a month now), and no one can give me any idea on how much longer it will be before it's inspected. Any suggestions?

Re:Railyard QC?????

My 3500 has been sitting in Tampa for over a month. > Apparently the testing team tested all in Tampa and either missed mine or tested before mine got there.:'( I've got a 5er on order and sure would like to get the truck so that I can get her ready to tow.

The dealer gave me a loaner car. He indicated that most of the failures were with truck with dark paint, slate, navy etc. ??? This was good news to me as mine is white.

Has anyone heard about the failures being discovered in primarily dark painted trucks?

Thanks!
John

Re:Railyard QC?????

Haven't heard anyone saying that one color paint was affected more than any other. Earlier posts indicated that the primer (corrosian inhibitor) was the culprit which would affect all colors.

My truck was shipped on 3-16-2003, but I am still waiting for it to arrive in WA state. The dealer stated that a couple of trucks had arrived late last week and that he expected a couple every day. Hope mine is one of them. We'd like to use it to tow our 5er (35 foot Alpenlite) to the coast for Mother-in-law's 80th birthday party.

Harry

Re:Railyard QC?????

Well I finally got my truck late last week after it was in the rail yard for a month. I had done all the paperwork to get one off a lot and finally got word it would be released just before I bought another one.
Apparantly my dealer had really raised a stink with DC and they sped up the process to test mine. He even went their himself (owner) to pick it up.
Needlless to say I am relieved and grateful that he intervened on my behalf. ;DOtherwise I would not have got it. From the sounds of it they would need another couple of weeks to finish the process.
It sure was worth the wait though. What a nice truck.

I think that sucks....

Congrats, Sawbones, you are really going to like that truck. Now the real test begins: how to not get withdrawal symptoms during the day while you have to work instead of play... :'( :'(

and the wonderful feeling of climbing in behind the wheel after all that waiting... ;D ;D ;D

Re:Railyard QC?????

Glad to hear a few folks are getting their truck that have been on hold. Has anyone received any information on how much longer this inspection process will take?

Re:Railyard QC?????

This is the latest.

The dealer contacted Dodge last week. Dodge will be sending a "team" from Detroit to Tampa the first of next week to test my truck. Again, citing the color, they indicated the chances are better than 90% they will release the truck for delivery.

This truck was built on 3/18. If it is release the middle of next week, it will have been delayed about 6 weeks.

I've got nerf bars in the garage, a Prodigy on the dresser and a 16K slider hitch lined up for installation. Still trying to decide on Line-X.

Thank to all you folk for the good info you provide.
John
