Curious if anyone else ended up with a truck potentially impacted by &quot;Primer contamintation&quot; issue covered in &quot;railyward QC&quot;. <br><br>My VIN is listed as possibly impacted by the primer contamination issue. They were supposed to have been checked prior to sale... but for a variety of reasons within DC's and dealer's control, that did not occur. DC is now deciding how to treat this issue, and I'm told DC will be notifiying impacted owners by mail with a &quot;process&quot;. I've also been told this is considered a &quot;warantee&quot; issue at this point. <br><br>So while I wait to be notified of the testing process, I'm wondering what is my worst case scenario. Personally, I would expect them to replace the truck if it failed, not buy it back and force me to renegotiate another deal. (Perhaps with different rebates, etc) If the truck had been caught prior to sale it would have been considered &quot;non-salable&quot; per the original DC alert. as stated on the other web site, there has been a primer inconsistancy detected out of Mexico. which resulted in poor paint jobs. so they are stoping delivery on certain trucks, to check this out. they are suppose to notify you, or the dealer and you have to go through it again. it looks like they will go to auction, no paint warrenty. (i bet they are sorry) yaaa. because of there process its probley cheaper. <br> Marv.

 

I've seen one truck that failed. It's more than poor paint, the top coat does not stick to the primer. It literally will peel off!<br><br>Makes the GM peeling paint syndrome of a few years ago pale in comparison. The difference is that the GM issue impacted hundreds of thousands of vehicles. This one supposedly impacts less than 450. And DC caught it.<br><br>My issues is that I can't really do the things to my truck that I need to use it, like spray in bedliner, until I know it will be ours for a while.<br><br>OK, I guess we will continue to wait.<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Alan
