This is a 2007 Dodge ram with the single disc cd player and the satalite radio. The tuner will not pick up but only a couple of channels. This is the 2nd truck i have purchased that has been like this. DOes it need reprogammed by dealer?

 

Do you mean the SAT radio is only picking up a couple of channels, in particular just promo channels? If yes you probably need to activate the SAT radio, meaning you have to pay. You can activate online http://www.sirius.com/install

Well sat radio not working but the regular tuner is not working either. That is what i was wondering about.

 

Could be a faulty head unit or, If bought used could have had an aftermarket unit and returned to stock and the antenna cable either not installed right or damage. I have damaged several cause the crimp connection is crap. If you know how pull the unit and inspect the antenna cable going in. If its in good shape and plugged in secure it just may be an internal electrical problem.
