Question for those who replaced the sport mirrors with the towing type.

My question is - was it worth it ? You can get a pair of power tow mirrors for the 03-07 rams of EBay for about $ 300. Are they significant improvement over the standard sport mirrrors ?

Thanks

Even when I am not towing a leave them flipped out/up. . . .I think they give a much better view of what's happening back there. Loose the sport mirrors and put the towing mirrors on, you never go back. . . . . .

Huge improvement! If I had known how good they are, I would never have bought the truck without them.

Its worth it to me to have the blind spot mirror, and they look better than the standard mirrors imo...
And like everyone else said, if you tow, huge improvement...

They're certainly worth it even if you never tow. I also think our trucks look 100x better with them.

I tow an enclosed car trailer regularly and recently put on the tow mirrors. A major improvement! I went through two different kinds of aftermarket add-on mirror extensions, both basically sucked. Neither provided a stable image.

The tow mirrors provide a great view and the ease of flipping them up and adjusting them with the power controls is fantastic. Makes backing up with a trailer much easier.

The downside is that they stick out more than the standard power mirrors, even when folded. I have to reach out the window and fold one towards me to get through tight toll booths and pay cashiers in parking garages. The right hand mirror not being convex takes some getting used to, though the small fish-eye mirrors help in that regard.

Got a set or those,do not like them, they sit at different angles and don't fold in.

ok... yea i didnt think about that different point of movement in that joint... i thought it would be nice cause of the larger surface area of the mirror but i see what you are saying... i did get the flip mirrors though so i will be good...

I had the sport mirrors on my truck and swapped them out for the tow mirrors. I don't ever flip the tow mirrors out, but when towing, even in the flipped in position, they give me a much better view. Once I get my slide in camper setup all ready, then they will work great when flipped out to see around the camper.
