Question on paint chip protection.

After six months of research on trucks I ordered a new Dodge regular cab one ton dually with the larime and nearly all options and darn I am excited, however it appears is I have to wait a good period of time till it gets here. With that said I am now doing new research and that is ways to prevent paint chips on the rocker pannels. I see that there are a couple choices one is mud flaps and the other is the 3M plastic coating.
Does anyone here have any suggestions on protecting the truck from rock chips?

You can't see it real well in this pic, but I had the rocker panels sprayed with the same stuff that they sprayed my boxliner with. I love the idea of no chips. Get some mud flaps also. In most places it's illegal to run without them anyway.

Festus,

Sharp truck!

Dcman27,

I would consider adding the bug deflector thing to the order. If ordered with the truck, it comes color matched, which looks sharp with the body color grille surround on the laramie package. I thought they didn't look too rugged and wasn't going to get it, but a friend of mine talked me into ordering it, and it has turned out to be very durable and resistant to rocks.

Like Festus said, get some sort of mud flap, or running boards. I would also suggest getting the rear wheel liner kit, which are plastic tubs that go in the rear wheel wells.

Edit: Unregard the rear wheel liner thing, I don't think it's applicable to duallies.

Festus,

Neat aux. lamp bracket. I'm going to have a similar unit built if my truck ever arrives.

Which brand of liner did you use, how long has it been in place and how is it holding up?
