Question about Cab Lights

I'm thinking of putting on a set of cab lights on top. Somewhere I heard (not sure where) that you can't have cab lights and the factory fog lights. Someone said there would be an issue with both of them pulling to much from the batteries. Anyone heard of this, or anyone running both the cab lights and the fog lights?

Ya, that's BS. All 3500 Laramies have fogs and cab lights.

Thanks............I thought that sounded like spewing crap. I would think that once the truck is running the battery load does not come into play.

A buddy of mine works in the service dept. of the dealership where I bought my truck. I'm getting the lights at his cost and installing at his house. He has installed "a buttload" (his words) of cab lights.

Is there a function to cab lights? I want to order them but my always practical wife jumped down my throat about it.

You never know....

I think they just look cool.

So if he is installing these cab lights does that mean that our trucks are PRE wired for them???? Or do we have to wire them for them to work???? I have a qc 2003 2500 Lwb hd with HO dsl 6spd.
thanx let us know what the deal is how much work is involved I assume we have to remove the headliner to get at the wiring if there is any there....

MACE:

Cab lights provide good visibility at night. I've had two trucks w/o lights and one with and I like them. It's alot easier to be seen at night.

Ditto Kertoncol's reply.

I have them and have had them on previous trucks I wouldn't buy one without cab lights, I like the extra visability factor.

And your also covered for Christmas Decorations.

ya know, when I bought my truck I HATED the cab lights.....but I have grown to really like them....and it is true that they increase visibility at night and in winter conditions.

BTW, I have the factory fog lights and cab lights as well.....
