Pulled out a semi today
In 1992 there was an ice storm in OK...and several other states.
I was driving my 90 reg cab dually 4x2 hauling a 53 ft wedge with three vans on it with two other guys with the same load. We came across a semi that was doing a slow motion slide into the ditch. His drive wheels went in as did the right front tire. His trailer wheels where just on the edge. He was stuck bad though. So my one buddy blocked the highway behind with a trooper who thought we were nuts. The two of us hooked up to him with me across the road and my drive wheels just touching the gravel on the edge. The other truck was along the right shoulder ahead of him...we only moved him 2-3 ft but it was enough to get him a bite on the gravel on the edge and then he got out.
The wait time was 7 hrs or more for him for a wrecker. The trooper on the north side watching us pull was impressed, the one that thought we were nuts was just shakin his head. The trucker offered to buy us supper at the next exit.
We declined and kept rolling as we really needed to get out of that stuff.
Cool stories. Back then a video camera was about the size of a VW Beetle and would put me over 26,000 pounds.
I still remember that giant panasonic shoulder mount camera with the full VHS casette. LOL

I pulled a loaded gravel truck and tractor at the same time. Truck got hung up while dumping. I tried the tractor first (Ford 5000) and it got stuck to. Put my wife in my truck up on hard ground, 4lo and 1st idling she drug everything out. Truck driver said he knew it would pull it cause he had a Dodge too.
I would think the best way to go about it would be to tie directly onto the frame with equal points of tension from both frame rails, to prevent any twisting. That and the mindset that slow and steady wins the race and all should be well.
