Pro Comp tires, pro/con, also 285 vs. 33"
Pro Comp is having their, buy three get four ,sale again. the price is less for four now compared to what else i have found short of a Kumho. I want the A/t and do NO offroading. anyone have opinions on them.
ALSO, i want to step up to a 285, isn't a 33 x12.50" virtually the same thing only more money? thanx for any help. crossy

A 285-70-17 or 285-75-16 is about equivalent to a 33" tall x 11-11.5" wide tire. WIthin 1/2" for height and 1 to 1-1/2 " for width, compared to a 33x12.5 tire.
I have Pro Comp A/T, 265-70-17 E load on my Duramax right now. Have a little over 25k mi on them, mostly hiway empty, about 5k mi towing 4k lbs.
They literally look like new still. If I measured them, they're maybe 25% worn.
They are quiet, get acceptable mud/snow traction (good in the snow if aired down some), and wear well (rotate them every 10k mi or so).
I'd reccomend them.

Thanks for that input Pilatus, I ordered a set of 33x12.5-17" all terrains on Monday and they got here today. I am glad to hear that they do ok. I hope that I am able to the 50,000 miles out of them.
Thanks
Thanks
