For the third time in two years, the seal on my gear box blew out, the last seal I changed two months ago. After I fixed it i went lock to lock to bleed out all the air and it was fine up till a couple days ago when I noticed the steering was getting harder and making noise. I checked the fluid and noticed that the reservoir was under a lot of pressure when I took the cap off. Anybody have an idea why my reservoir is under so much pressure and blowing out the seal?

Your problem is the cap. It has venting built into it and is probably clogged. Search for posts on leaking PS sytems and you will see the problem and soultion. Mine was leaking and i found the info,did the fix and it is no longer leaking. Or you can take the cap off. Disasemble it and you might see how to make it vent a little better. It is easy i just don't recall how i did it at this time. I do remember a little use of my dremmel tool was all it took.

I keep meaning to do that to mine. When I go to check the fluid, the cap practically flies into my hand. It has had a very slight leak from the pump ever since the warrenty expired.
