Power Steering not working after new pump installed

A few weeks ago I installed a new steering box as I felt that shaft on the old one was loose. At the same time, I also put a defiant steering brace on. Then over the weekend the power steering just out completely while in a parking garage. I had to have AAA come pick it up.

Today I replaced the pump with a new factory one from dodge. It looked different compared to the old one. I had heard that they changed the design so I figured it was better than the original. When I put the new one on I left the line off and flushed about 3 qts of fluid through it to make sure it was working and to make sure everything was cleared out. It seemed to be moving the fluid through great. So I buttoned it all up, jacked the truck up and began moving the steering wheel lock to lock. It really wasn't that easy to turn. I dropped the jacks and the truck is still not movable. Doesn't seem any better at all.

Now I don't know what to do. Everything is new on this truck as I think I just got finished with my death wobble problems.

Any ideas?

Ok, today I took the steering box off that I had installed a few weeks ago from Advanced. I exchanged it for a another one, installed it, and now power steering works perfect. I hate chasing my tail on stuff all because the new part was bad to begin with. So who knows, maybe the pump wasn't bad after all. I know this, I will probably just go ahead and call that red head company that I've been reading about, if it happens again.

make sure you blow out the lines or change the fluid quick because if the box went out or the pump there will be debris in there causing premature wear on seals and such

It takes A LOT to bleed the system after a pump install.

The manual asks to turn wheel side to side 40 times or more (engine off).

I had same experience with a 2nd gen, and finally I did get it to work. I started to think I had a bad pump or something else was wrong.

Finally....grroooowaaang it started making noise. I didn't think it they could hold that much air, but apparently they do.
