Power Steering hoses HOT!

I stuck my hand in there to feel the fuel pump running and laid my arm against the power steering line. I thought I burnt myself. Then I felt the power steering resevior.... it was real hot.

Is this normal?

Was that after the truck had been driven with a lot of turning? The P/S fluid can get pretty toasty after a lot of turning. Most performance cars have a P/S fluid cooler to keep the temps down. It sounds like it's probably normal.

Not necessarily a lot of turning but after a 1 hour drive.

I think there is a cooler.
