Picked up my new truck!

I did the whole deal over the phone.
Even worked out a trade value.

So, on Thursday morning, I got up and put the original stereo equipment back into my 2000 truck. Drove that truck from Georgia up to Greenville, SC to have the hydraulic winch removed. Then I drove from there to Hickory, NC.

When I pulled up, the salesman and the used-car manager immediately descended on my truck to see what they'd gotten themselves into. The salesman gave me the keys to the new truck and I started moving my guns over (I was headed to my property north of Asheville for some fun).

The used-car guy needed me to show him how to operate my trade-in and then he took it for a spin.

Meanwhile, I signed all of the paperwork on the new truck. Then took a few pics and headed the 2 hours to my place.

The 06 seems quieter than the two 03s I had previously. The shift pattern is going to take some getting used to, but I think I prefer the gearing of this new transmission. I tried to drive the truck up on some mountain highways instead of the interstate--trying to keep the throttle moving.

I'm also pleasantly surprised by the 06 interior--it's darker than the pictures made it look. I was afraid that the grey was going to be too light. Even so, I'm thinking I may put some WetOkole covers on. I had some on the traded truck for 5 years. The original seats looked brand new when I took the covers off a couple of weeks ago.

anyway, without further blabbering, here are the few pics I took of the new truck before my camera pooped out.

It's a 2006 3500 SLT 6spd QuadCab 4x4 Shortbed with ThunderRoad Value Group, power sliding rear window, 3.73 limited slip rear, forged aluminum wheels, etc.

Now to start pouring money into accessories.

Sorry, I was unclear in the post. I sold my most recent 03 dually about 3 months ago. The truck I traded was a different truck.
