Payload?

I have work topper loaded with all my tools and parts that is a total weight of #2100 pounds. My truck is a new 2007 2500 4x4 quad cab 5.9L 4 Speed trans 48RE. I also have just installed Super lift Air bags!

My question is:Will this weight kill my truck?

It'll cause things to wear out faster. Mostly tires. For the most part I think you'll be fine. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade the TC and VB to make sure your tranny temps stay down.

Torque Converter and Valve Body. Took me awhile to get used to DTR jargon, but eventually caught on.

Anyone haul #2000 pounds of payload every day?

If so how is your truck holding up?

Your truck should be fine. I am guessing you have a real payload of about 1600 lbs if you truck is close to mine. You should go weigh your truck just to get a real value. There really isn't much difference between a SRW 3500 and your 2500 except rear springs and 900 lbs more payload. Your trans should be just fine.

The truck weight is 8900 pounds with me in the truck full of gas.

MY GVWR is 9000.

For comparison, here's mine with 2K of wood pellets, and my son in his seat. Does yours squat any more than this?

Of course, I'm not carrying this around every day.

I Just thinking about how the trans and other parts will hold up.

According to the 2007 Dodge sales brochure the max payload for a 9,000lb. GVWR 2500 4x4 is 2,070lbs. A 2007 4x4 with a GVWR of 8,800lbs. will allow 2,640lbs. for the payload. This is all taken for a 100% rock stock suspension system. Your airlifts may give you a little more payload. Check with the man. of the airbag set.

As long as you are under your GVWR, FGAWR and RGAWR.
