Ordered up a PacBrake airbag kit and took a few picts when I installed it. Thought I would post em up for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Heres the kit as I got it. This will be going on the truck in my sig. The packaging was great. Everything was labeled, instructions were clear, and all parts were well packaged. I liked that the bracktry was all hammerite painted.

 

I didn't take picts of all the steps cause it is just a bolt on affair and very straightforward.

The upper brackets take the place of the factory bumpstops and the lower brackets clamp around the axle tube. I ran the airlines to the rear license plate which made for a clean easy accessable place to fill or check each bag independently.

I plan on putting an air system on in the future so I can operate the bags from the cab, air horns, air tools, etc...

 

I'll be able to give more feedback when I pull a load in a few weeks. (30' Gooseneck with our XJ and a buddy's LJ)


This was taken about a month ago and should help keep the rear end level.


It was amazing how quick the rear end raised up when the bags were inflated. Was about a 2" difference in height. Since the bags are so small you have to give the air in short bursts to keep from over inflating. I filled them to 90 psi for a leak check and everything seems to be holding well so I'll zip tie and spit loom everything this afternoon and put the spare tire back in.

 

Said it before and I'll say it again. The quality of the parts looks so much better than the Firestone Ride-Rite. If I had to do it over agian, PacBrake for sure...just on looks of the hardware!

I just installed the Rite Ride tonite, easy install and i am happy with it.
Installing the 2" leveling kit in the front was a pain in the ***, but all in all i like the look of the truck now, it sits like a dodge is too sit

i have the air lift air spring brand on mine and from the pic thay look like the same bags ?
mine have the number 5813 molded on the bag .

also mine mount on top of spring between axel and frame ,so plenty of room between ex pipe and bag no shield .

unloaded i only carry 20 psi in them as 30 gives a bouncy ride .
with open car trailer and car i run 35 for a smooth ride .

 

I really like the looks of the hardware that came with the PacBrake kit. If I had it to do over again I would have used the PacBrake kit.

 

I don't know if they support or not but Geno's has em.


Harold may be able to answer the airbag question but I doubt they are PacBrake's unless they have Pacbrake molded into the bag.

One of the reasons I went with this kit was that it didn't go between the spring and frame cause that is where some of the GN hitch brackets are.

I just got back from a trip this weekend and ran 30 psi in them and they were very stable. I run 10-12 around town.

The hardware was great, all hardware fit nice, brackets were very nicely painted and everything labled. I'd recomend them to anyone.
