p2609 code won't erase

2003 diesel 3500, p2609 will not erase. i know its a grid heater perfomance code, other codes, set off by my quad box have been successfully erased and have not returned. does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix without going to the dealer?

i want this stupid check engine light off!

Go to Autozone and borrow their code eraser.

If a code isn't clearing, seems like to me that the computer has found an actual fault. You might be looking at a failing grid heater. Other codes that the computer throws, such as intake codes when you put specific brands on just make the computer THINK that something is wrong because it's properties have changed so when you go to clear those, the computer is basically like "oh, everything really is ok afterall" you know what I mean? I may be wrong, but I know that on our ship our SLQ-32 gets faults all the time and when you run the built in test again, everything is fine, but if you actually flip a switch somewhere and run your built in test, the fault will be there consistantly. Hope that I'm not confusing you! LOL
